Dr. Panagiotis N. Koustoumpardis is an R&D Engineer and Research & Teaching Associate at the Robotics Group of the Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineering Dept., University of Patras, Greece, where he received a Mechanical Eng. Diploma (1998) and a Ph.D. degree in Robotics. He teaches in the courses of ‘Industrial Automation’ and ‘Robotics’. From 2004 to 2006 he was an Instructor (Robotics course) at the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Technological Educational Institute of Patras. His main research interests are robotics, intelligent control, machine learning, neural networks, intelligent sensor fusion and machine vision for robotics applications and intelligent robotic handling and force control of non-rigid materials as well as human robot cooperation for handling non-rigid materials. He has been involved in the majority of the Robotics Group research projects and he authored 22 publications in journals and conferences. He is an Associate Editor of one journal (International Journal of Automation and Control) and reviewer of 7 journals (Mechatronics - Journal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics - European Journal of Control - Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing - International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems - Recent Advances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering - American Journal of Computation, Communication and Control). He was a reviewer in 10 international conferences (CSNDSP 2006, ECC (2007, 2013), MED (2009-2012), RAAD (2014-2015), ReMAR 2015) and basic member of the organizing committee of the 1st and 2nd Hellenic Robotic Conference. He is a member of Textile ETP Expert Community, of the Greek Society of Mechanical & Electrical Engineers and of Technical Chamber of Greece.
