Robotics Club won first place in the category Enchanced Line Following of Robotex 2015 international compeition. Our robot "Dromeas 2S" was the only robot that managed to overcome the obstacles of the track!
Robotex is an inernational competition with 17 categories that takes place in Tallinn, Esthonia for the last 15 years. This year, 1400 contestant from more than 15 countries participated with 650 robots, breaking the record by being the biggest robot competition in Europe.
"Dromeas 2S" also finished at the 6th place of the Line Following competition, among 100 competitors. See here the official results.
Robotics Club participated in Patras IQ 2 (24-26 April 2015), an expo for mature research results. The purpose of the exhibition was the development and strengthening of cooperation within the research community and the productive sector.
Our Club presented its latest robots and discussed with the visitors about the technology used for the development of the robots and the perspectives in their application.
Our 2 Line Following robots finished 24th and 28th respectively among 232 contestants, while our Fire Fighting robot finished 7th among 33 robots of the category!
"The technologies of robotics and 3D printing continue to converge. While in essence, a 3D printer is a robot itself, it’s the robots that are able to be fabricated via 3D printing which are becoming the real story. We have covered numerous stories of both professional and amateur robotic creations that have utilized 3D printing to a large extent. The number of applications within the robotics space for 3D printing will only continue to expand as both technologies advance..."
